05/10/2009 ABR RECORDS 1st CLASS WIN and OVERALL WIN at the 59th Annual BEMC Spring Trophy Races! On May 10, 2009 ABR/Scarboro Mazda Racing got our 1st win! After 5 seasons of trying it all came together on one of the coldest race days ever (lol). During the morning practice we got to the 1st corner and almost lost it, then 3 corners later did the same thing again! We started last on the grid (40th) for the 1st race on Sunday and the car was a handful, but with the help of some sticky BFGoodrich tires and Mazmark/Rytech Horsepower we made it to 19th overall and 4th in class. My team came to the rescue as always, with Chris and Curtis making the right adjustments which gave us what we needed! It took about 6 laps to get out front and maitain about a 5 second lead on the hot contest for 2-4 in class. During the trophy presentation we also were informed we had won the overall Spring Trophy Race as our class was by far the largest of the day and the BIG trophy goes to the winner of the class! A big thanks has to the team, lead by Chris James, his son Curtis,Jody Joshua and Chris Davy who were at the track. Also Tony A, Colin, Brian and Anthony back at the shop. Without you guys non of this would be possible. Also without Scarboro Mazda, BFGoodrich Tires, Amazing Mazmark/Rytech Horsepower,NGK Spark Plug,Eurasia Collision Center and Millennium Graphics we would not be racing this season! 04/28/2009 Great news for our team! We just partnered with NGK Spark Plugs for the 2009 season! They are now suppling us with there R6725-11.5 racing spark plugs, and we know they will give us superior spark and horsepower. Welcome aboard NGK! 04/20/2009 We are going to Shannonville on May 1 with 10 close friends to break in the new engine! 2 hours of driving around the Fabi track slowly increasing engine RPM, a new kind of endurance test! 02/10/2009 The new bullet is in the car and ready to fire! Mark, Cliff and Kam have outdone themselves with this engine! We will have it broken in and ready to go long before the 1st race of the year May 10th 2009 at Mosport! 11/27/2008 Mark Balkissoon and our team are working on the new engine and it should be in the car before years end. We are using brand new rotors,side plates, internal seals. All this is possible because of Mazda Canada's continued support! 2008 was an interesting year. We had our up and downs, but all in all we had better results and went faster than ever before! A big part of our new found speed was our friends and sponsors who helped us along the way. Crewchief Chris James along with engine builder Mark Balkissoon and team engineer Kam Harduwar spent countless hours working, building and tuning. Chassis expert and race car builder Blaise Chida (BC Racecars) helped us with corner weighting the car and that gave it new found stability that allowed us to drive harder and faster into the corners. Joshua Tang has been instrumental is helping develope this site as well documenting our racing with his tremendous photographic talent. Our sponsors have also been a major reason we have been able to increase our performance level! Scarboro Mazda has been there all the way since day one providing us with tow and support vehicles and unlimited use of their excellent facilities. BFGoodrich Tires have provided us with the best R-Compound tire on the market which has enabled us to be consistant and fast! MazMark Auto and RyTech X-ray has built us the best performing rotary engines we could ever want. Mark Balkissoon and Kam Harduwar have been there with us at any time of day to make sure we have the speed we need! Eurasia Collision Center, Millennium Graphics have been great sponsors and are the reason the #01 car looks as well as it performs! Again we can't say enough about our crewchief Chris James and his son Curtis who spend so much of their free time preparing and repairing the car, as well all the time at track. These guys are the heart and soul of ABR! We are already working on our 2009 sponsorship packages and we are glad to report the following companies are back with us for 2009!
